What you can and cannot send

Most personal belongings travel without any trouble. These are the things we cannot carry, and the ones that need a little care.

We cannot carry

Explosives and fireworks

They are dangerous goods and no carrier will take them.

Weapons and replicas

Weapons, replicas and their parts are not accepted.

Flammable liquids and gases

Fuels, gas canisters, lighters and matches are dangerous goods.

Includes: petrol, gasoline, lighter fluid, cigarette lighter, gas lighter, zippo, butane, propane, gas canister, gas cylinder, camping gas, paint thinner, white spirit, turpentine, methylated spirit, acetone, matches

Aerosols

Aerosols, including deodorant, hairspray and shaving foam, are dangerous goods. Roll-on and stick versions are fine.

Perfume and nail varnish

Perfume, aftershave and nail varnish are flammable and are treated as dangerous goods.

Spare lithium batteries and power banks

Spare lithium batteries, power banks and vapes cannot travel. Carry them with you.

Electric bikes and scooters

Their batteries are too large to send. Please contact us to talk it through.

Includes: e-bike, ebike, electric bike, e-scooter, electric scooter, hoverboard, mobility scooter battery

Chemicals, poisons and corrosives

Household chemicals and corrosives are dangerous goods.

Includes: bleach, battery acid, sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid, pesticide, weed killer, insecticide, poison, drain cleaner, oven cleaner, chlorine

Cash and bullion

Cash and bullion are not accepted.

Includes: cash, banknote, bank note, bullion, gold bar

Illegal drugs

Controlled drugs are not accepted. Cannabis and CBD products are illegal in many countries.

Can travel, with care

Alcohol

Many destinations limit or ban alcohol, and strong spirits are dangerous goods. Please ask us before packing it.

Includes: alcohol, wine, beer, spirits, whisky, whiskey, vodka, gin, rum, champagne, prosecco, liqueur

Food

Some countries, such as Australia and New Zealand, strictly control food. Declare it clearly, or leave it out.

Includes: food, meat, cheese, fruit, vegetable, honey, spice, sweets, chocolate, biscuit

Plants, seeds and soil

Plants, seeds, soil and untreated wood are controlled by many countries. Declare them clearly.

Includes: plant, seed, soil, flower bulb, plant cutting, wood carving

Medicines

Medicines can be held at customs. Take essential medicines with you, and keep any others in their labelled packs.

Includes: medicine, medication, tablets, pills, prescription, supplement, vitamins

Devices with batteries

Devices with built-in batteries can travel switched off and protected. Do not pack spare batteries with them.

Includes: laptop, phone, mobile phone, tablet, ipad, camera, drone, games console, headphones, electric toothbrush, shaver

Fragile or valuable items

Pack them well and check your cover level: valuable items may need extra cover.
