Start with the exact destination
Include the town and, when known, the postcode. A mainland address, a Balearic island and a Canary Islands destination should not be treated as interchangeable. The collection and delivery plan, and the requirements that apply to your belongings, need assessment for the actual route. If you have not chosen the property, give the area you are considering and explain what is still undecided.
Think about access at your new home
For an apartment, describe the floor, any lift and the distance from the vehicle to the entrance. For a rural property, mention narrow lanes, gates or a steep approach. Ask the property owner about vehicle or delivery-time restrictions. These details help identify what needs checking before a proposal is agreed.
Choose belongings before transport options
A few pieces of furniture and a full household are different planning tasks. List the larger items first, then estimate smaller boxes. Flag delicate pieces and anything needing unusual handling. Ask which transport arrangements can be offered for your route, how flexible collection and delivery need to be, and which charges and responsibilities are included. No option or timetable should be assumed from the destination alone.
Keep residence and belongings paperwork distinct
Permission to visit or live in Spain and the treatment of imported household belongings are separate questions. Check current requirements with the competent authorities, based on your circumstances and route. An enquiry does not establish eligibility for tax relief, residency or entry. Ask what documents need to be ready before collection and who is responsible for each stage.
Moving from Spain instead?
Use the enquiry to describe a departure from Spain, a UK return or a move to another country. Enter both countries and your available dates. The direction matters: an outward journey does not establish requirements or availability for the return journey.
Check current official requirements
For entry and residence questions, start with GOV.UK's Spain guidance where it applies to you. For household-goods relief, consult the Spanish tax authority's transfer-of-residence information. Check the territory and your own circumstances; these links are not a determination of eligibility.
