Tell us who is travelling
Start with the number and type of pets, then give the breed or species, age and approximate size of each one. Mention any needs that could affect the journey. If you have several pets, describe them separately in the same enquiry so each can be considered.
Plan the route and dates together
Provide both countries and towns, your approximate moving date and any dates that cannot change. Say whether you will already be at the destination or someone else will receive your pets. Pet travel and furniture delivery need their own arrangements; do not assume they will happen on the same day.
Prepare for the travel discussion
Say whether you already have a travel crate and include its dimensions if known. A photo of your pet standing and a photo of the crate can help explain their size. Any crate, route and transport arrangements need assessment before travel is confirmed.
Check requirements for the actual journey
Pet entry requirements depend on the destination, route and animal. Use the relevant authorities' current guidance and discuss preparation with your vet. Keep the travel documents organised and ask which documents and arrangements need to be ready before you confirm the journey.
Ask once when you are moving a home
Tick pet transport in your moving enquiry and add a short description of your pets. Your contact details, moving route and timing are already there. Use the dedicated pet form when pet transport is the only service you need. Availability and the proposed arrangements are confirmed after assessment.
Your questions answered
Do I need two forms for my home and pets?
No. Select pet transport in the household moving form. Add the pet details and any useful photos to the same request.
Can I enquire before I know the travel date?
Yes. Choose approximate timing and explain what is undecided. Update the details when your plans become clearer.
Can I request transport for a pet other than a cat or dog?
Choose Other pet and describe the species and needs. The enquiry allows assessment; it does not confirm that every species or route can be accepted.
Check current pet travel requirements
Start with GOV.UK's guidance for taking a pet abroad where it applies, and the destination authority's guidance for your pet and route. Discuss veterinary preparation with your vet.
