Separate travel essentials from the shipment
Make a list of belongings you can send and what you need to keep with you for arrival. Keep the items you need immediately accessible while the shipment is being arranged. Check what the accommodation provides before adding furniture or kitchen items that may not be needed.
Give the dates that affect your plans
Tell us your course start date, tenancy dates and when the accommodation can receive belongings. Explain which dates are flexible. A requested date is a planning detail, so confirm the collection and delivery arrangements before relying on the shipment for your first days there.
Check how the residence receives deliveries
Ask about reception opening hours, booking requirements, room access and who can accept packages. Include the floor and any lift restrictions for furniture. If a parent or another contact will help at collection, tell us how they fit into the arrangements.
Choose the enquiry for your belongings
Use the boxes and luggage form for packages and suitcases. For a room of furniture or a larger load, use the household moving form and select the approximate size. Include an inventory or photos to explain the load without completing a second request.
Plan the return as its own journey
At the end of a course, the belongings, origin and receiving address may have changed. Provide the current list and route when requesting a return move. Keep a copy of the agreed arrangements and tell us if the accommodation or collection contact changes.
